If you get frequent headaches, it can interfere with your day-to-day life. The good news is that there are many things you can do to combat this issue. Here are some of the best tips for getting rid of headaches.

  • Drink Plenty of Water

It’s not just a myth. Drinking enough water really can help you feel better and stay healthier. Dehydration is a common cause of headaches and fatigue. You’ll feel better overall if you drink enough water throughout the day. However, make sure that you don’t drink too much water, or else you may develop hyponatremia, which is also referred to as water intoxication.

  • Get Enough Sleep

Lack of sleep can also lead to headaches and fatigue. Whether you’re having trouble falling asleep at night or aren’t getting enough sleep because of an irregular schedule, your health will suffer as a result. Getting at least seven hours of sleep each night is recommended for most adults. Keep in mind that some people need more sleep than others to feel their best during the day. If you’re still feeling tired after sleeping for seven hours or more every night, then try going to bed earlier until you find the right amount of time that works for you.

  • Get Regular Exercise

Aerobic exercise has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of migraines in some studies. Exercise also reduces stress, which is another common trigger for headaches.

  • Relax

Relaxation exercises can help cut down on stress-induced headaches by helping you deal with the symptoms of stress better. Try yoga or tai chi, or get a massage or go for a long walk when you start to feel stressed out.

  • Avoid Common Triggers

Alcohol, caffeine, certain medications and foods and food additives like MSG can trigger migraine headaches in some people. Figure out what your headache triggers are and how to avoid them.
