You may be a charming broad with beautiful green eyes, but unfortunately, your vision can still decline over the years. Nature cannot be fooled by our looks, regardless of how hard we might try. Eyesight declines, especially as we get old, but that doesn’t necessarily have to happen for everyone.

ScienceAlert.com tells us about a simple method of improving declining eyesight, and it’s more simple than the blink of an eye. All you need is to get exposed to the light of a certain color during the morning hours.

Red light is the answer

The new study published in Scientific Reports reveals that if you get exposed to short doses of red light in the morning, your declining eyesight could receive some improvements. The method is not only simple to apply – it’s also safe, according to the researchers involved.

The study implied 20 participants who had been looking at 670 nanometer deep red light for three minutes in the morning. Their eyesight improved from 17 to 20 percent and generally lasted for a week.

Glen Jeffery, a neuroscientist from University College London (UCL), declared:

Using a simple LED device once a week recharges the energy system that has declined in the retina cells, rather like recharging a battery,

And morning exposure is absolutely key to achieving improvements in declining vision: as we have previously seen in flies, mitochondria have shifting work patterns and do not respond in the same way to light in the afternoon – this study confirms this.

The scientist also explained the following:

Mitochondria have specific sensitivities to long wavelength light influencing their performance,

Longer wavelengths spanning 650 to 900 nanometers improve mitochondrial performance to increase energy production.

Feel free to tell us if you’re happy about the method of getting exposed to red light and if you would be willing to give it a try!
