Exploring the Universe can be an even more pleasant experience if you’re doing it through video games. NASA’s new ‘Roman Space Observer’ retro game that we spoke about in a previous article might not be anything too fancy, but we can’t say the same about Starfield.

The recent Xbox showcase has shown what Starfield is all about – an immersive action RPG that’s being developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks that embarks the player on a huge cosmic journey.

You can explore over 1,000 planets in Starfield starting in 2023

Starfield launches in 2023 without knowing the precise release date of the game. The game’s showcase revealed that the players would have the chance to explore more than 1,000 planets. The timeline is set in the year 2330, when humanity traveled beyond the Solar System. We’ve seen explorers in the game as they roam across the Kreet moon, where they even encounter alien life forms. Interestingly enough, those extraterrestrial beings don’t appear to be hostile.

However, space exploration is not the only phase of the game, as there is also plenty of action involved, as well. Feel free to see for yourself in new gameplay footage revealed by Bethesda:

Here’s how Bethesda describes the new game:

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.

The game is not available for purchase via Steam yet, but you can still hit the ‘Add to your wishlist’ button to get notified later as soon as it becomes available.
