NASA’s Juno Probe Has Recently Sent To Earth Two More Stunning Pics Of Jupiter’s Atmosphere

NASA’s Juno mission, the space probe launched by the US space agency to study Jupiter’s atmosphere in 2011, has recently sent new stunning pics of Jupiter and more information about the giant gaseous planet in our solar system. Luckily, NASA engineers and artists led by Kevin M. Gill managed to process the images in order to reveal Jupiter in all its splendor.

Having reached its destination in July 2016, Juno makes an orbital maneuver called “Perijove” every 53.5 days. During this maneuver, the probe is launched from the north pole of Jupiter over the Jupiter clouds at more than 200,000 kilometers per hour, until it reaches the south pole.

This maneuver is performed in order to protect the ship’s electronic components from the extreme radiation fields found in Jupiter. And by the way, NASA’s Juno probe captures close-up images with the planet’s atmosphere, that would not otherwise be possible.

Therefore, NASA’s Juno probe has always been capable of capturing Jupiter in all its splendor, showing Jupiter’s swirling clouds, the planet’s Great Red Spot, or incredibly powerful storms in Jupiter’s atmosphere.

About 2 weeks ago NASA’s Juno mission revealed two other stunning pics of Jupiter

After 13 such Perijovian maneuvers, the last one which happened on May 24th has revealed another set of stunning images with the giant gaseous planet.

NASA’s artists and engineers like Kevin M. Gill have managed to process the images and information that the probe sent back to Earth and came up with the incredible images you can see below.

NASA’s Juno mission is scheduled to end in July 2018 when the space probe that studied the giant gaseous planet in our solar system is supposed to plunge into the Jupiter’s atmosphere to send back home the last images and readings while it is descending to meet its “death”.
