Hubble Space Telescope Spotted A Mysterious Nebula Of “Unknown Nature”

NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope made another astonishing discovery. Now, the renowned telescope captured an image of a mysterious nebula of “unknown nature” that keeps puzzling scientists and astronomers years after its first discovery.

The weird nebula, dubbed IRAS 05437+2502, was in the in the constellation of Taurus, right next to the center of the Milky Way, at the moment when Hubble Space Telescope snapped it.

“This little-known nebula billows out among the bright stars and dark dust clouds that surround it in this striking image. Unlike many of Hubble’s targets, this object has not been studied in detail, and its exact nature is unclear,” reads the official Twitter page of Hubble.

“At first glance, it appears to be a small, rather isolated region of star formation, and one might assume that the effects of fierce ultraviolet radiation from bright, young stars probably were the cause of the eye-catching shapes of the gas,” added the ESA which is now operating the Hubble Space Telescope.

The fascinating cloud of dust and gas around the central formation might have been produced by a young star that got ejected from its original, far-distant cluster, passing with 200,000 kilometers per hours through the gas and dust structure.

Hubble Space Telescope, jointly operated by NASA and ESA (The European Space Agency) is following a very busy agenda with lots of observations pre-scheduled from the ground. Accordingly, Hubble was indeed very lucky to spot the mysterious nebula of “unknown nature,” spontaneously. We’re also fortunate that it did it so that we can enjoy another image of a far-distant deep space region.

On the other hand, the Hubble Space Telescope is living the final moments of its life as the new and improved James Webb Space Telescope is getting ready to take its place and offer us many more exciting images of the Universe.
