The famous billionaire and co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, is once again under the spotlight with new predictions for the future of our world. He believes humanity is currently regressing due to several factors: the COVID pandemic, the war between Ukraine and Russia, climate change, and more.

Bill Gates spoke about the issues in a recent tweet, calling them “huge global setbacks.” He also wrote:

The pandemic is one of the biggest setbacks in history. The war on Ukraine is a gigantic tragedy for the entire world. The damage from climate change is already worse than most models predicted. The U.S. has taken a huge step backwards for gender equality and women’s health.

However, there’s no reason to lose hope, according to the same billionaire, who also said:

But I’m still optimistic. These setbacks are happening in the context of two decades’ worth of historic progress and I believe it is possible to mitigate the damage and get back to the progress the world was making.

Climate change is one of the issues that researchers have been concerned about for many years. According to a recent study, it may even be possible to reverse its effects, as MIT scientists claim. One idea for how to do that is to send thin film-like silicon bubbles colloquially known as “space bubbles” all the way to the L1 Lagrangian Point.

The COVID pandemic is still unfolding across the globe, even though humanity now has a lot of weapons to tackle it – medications and vaccines. Dr. Anthony Fauci now raises awareness about the new BA.5 Omicron subvariant of COVID. Furthermore, he even states that it’s time for people to put their masks back on while they’re indoors, according to CNN.

We recently spoke about another prediction of Bill Gates back in May, when he said that the worst of the COVID pandemic is still yet to come.
