You now have the chance to explore the space as if you were there. Not only that, but you can even take selfies. Doesn’t that sound great? NASA has just released two apps that are meant to offer you a unique experience while having a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at what the company has come up with.

NASA’s apps will take you to a journey to the distant stars

One of the apps, Exoplanet Excursions, is a VR app that was created for Oculus and HTC Vive headsets. Thanks to this app, you will be able to have an amazing 3D experience that will allow you to “fly” through the TRAPPIST-1 system. This adventure will let you see artists’ interpretations of the system’s many Earth-sized planets and at the same time you will be able to compare them to the planets in our solar system.

Taking selfies to another level

More than just traveling to far-away planets, you can now take NASA selfies. The second app that the space company created, called NASA Selfies app, can be installed on both iOS and Android and will let you take self-portraits in front of various popular cosmic landmarks, like the Orion Nebula.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the launch of Spitzer

Both virtual reality apps, Exoplanet Excursion and NASA Selfies app, were created in order to celebrate 15 years that passed since NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope was launched. As you can already imagine, wonderful discoveries and images that were found by Spitzer lie at the center of the two new apps. Thanks to these two new amazing digital inventions, everyone will be able to experience flying to space and the universe will be at their fingertips. So don’t hesitate to give them a try whenever you have the occasion.
