Since autumn is already here, we figured that it’s time to get cozy and start watching some nice, classic movies that will make you have a very relaxing time. Here is our selection of best 7 classic autumn movies that you should definitely watch this season.

Scent of a woman

The reason why this movie reminds us of autumn is due to these scenes: we have a dinner at the Oak Room overlooking the Central Park, we also have the moments when Ferrari rides the streets of New York. More than that, there is a looming pressure of Thanksgiving. The movie was directed by Martin Brest and it was released in 1992.

Dead Poets Society

Released in 1989 and directed by Peter Weir, this is probably one of the favorite movies of many people. The reason why this film is connected to autumn is that the action takes place at school, when kids go back to school. We also have charismatic teachers and prep school uniforms. The movie was filmed at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Delaware. It was hard to choose our favorite quote from this movie, but here it is: “No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” – John Keating

Good Will Hunting

This movie was filmed in Greater Boston and Toronto and it was directed by Gus Van Sant. It became available to the public in 1997. In the film, the school is starting up again in New England and we can notice some autumn foliage on Harvard’s campus, as well as apples. This movie made its debut in movie theaters in 1998 and it was directed by Wes Anderson. It was filmed at St. John’s School in Houston, Texas. The reason why this film reminds of autumn is that it’s about going back to school and we also have a Halloween scene in the courtyard. Let’s also not forget about Max Fisher’s hat. This movie has all the things that can make us think of autumn: changing weather and cozy sweaters, as well as family drama. It was filmed in New York and the director is Chris Columbus.
