These 5 Coworkers lost 220 Pounds by Following the Keto Diet

Known affectionately as the Keto Krew, they work at a grocery store. Because they work constantly surrounded by aisles of chips, candy and cookies, they probably had it hard to commit to a certain diet. However, these 5 coworkers from the Sprouts Farmer’s Market store in Katy, Texas managed to lose approximately 220 pounds by sticking to the ketogenic diet.

If you don’t know, keto diet is a pretty popular regime which consists of low-carb intake, combined with a high-fat diet. It requires that a percentage between 60 and 80 per cent of the total calories consumed by a man or woman have to come from fat.

The Keto Krew took form after the grocery manager Farley Hayes became an inspiration for his colleagues after his dramatic weight loss. When he took up the keto diet in March, Farley weighed 354 pounds and until now he dropped a whopping 65 pounds. The others were completely stunned by his sudden transformation and decided to commit as well to the keto craze.

Hayes spoke for MensHealth.com and he apparently lost 10 pounds just in the first week alone, and in the weeks that followed (six in total) he had over 30 pounds down. He got his motivation for the Keto diet from his wife and after just six months, Hayes checks in with a lower blood pressure and lower triglyceride levels as well.

After two weeks passed, his coworkers started asking him questions about this diet. The first one who hopped on board was Micha Govella and soon enough, Ana Lewis joined too. After some time the Keto Krew was completed when Nick Glidden and Chris Martinez took up the Keto diet as well. At this time they swap recipes, answer keto diet questions for their customers and continue to support each other’s efforts.
