The popular franchise developed by EA is notoriously popular worldwide and the Sims games and Modes have been top sales every time they were released. Unfortunately, it “sims” that fans are not to receive a new game until 2020.

Reasons why The Sims 5 will not happen soon

Only recently at the end of 2027 EA released The Sims 4 for consoles and this is a strong reason why the publisher and developer will want to wait. The idea is to exhaust all the available money making options with The Sims 4 before releasing a new game for the beloved franchise.

Fans agree that EA would not have bothered to make console versions of The Sims 4 if the company did not plan to keep it long-term.

The 20th anniversary of The Sims franchise will take place soon and many hope that The Sims 4 is not going to be the only thing connected with it. Maybe the Sims Mobile will also appear.

EA game has told fans many times that they should not search for patterns in terms of game releases for The Sims franchise and this means that we cannot guess the release year of The Sims 5 judging by the previous releases.

Many have speculated that the future game will reintroduce fan beloved feature missing in The Sims 4.

If The Sims 4 continues to be profitable, then EA is not going to rush and release The Sims 5 before 2019.

A scary rumor is that there will be no fifth game if The Sims 4 does not have satisfactory sales.

  1. Sims 4 was a complete bust for me.
    Downloaded the trial but was bored with it before it even expired.
    I could detect no change in Sim activities as a result of the new emotions. In fact none of the new features interested me at all.
    The features that were stripped out were the features that persuaded me to upgrade from Sims 2 to 3.
    It felt more like Sims 2.5 with better graphics than a Sims 3 let alone a Sims 4.

    Eventually, with no more packs for Sims 3, I got bored and stopped playing.

    Sims 5 would have to be really something spectacular to who me back onto their cash cow.
