The “One Chip Challenge” is a product that is packaged in a box in the style of a coffin and decorated with a red skull. The box also has a list of warnings that advise anyone with medical conditions or who is pregnant not to consume the chip’s contents. So, what did go wrong with the last “One Chip Challenge?”

On Friday, a 14-year-old teen from Massachusetts, unfortunately, passed within hours after eating a “One Chip Challenge” that had been powdered with a spice produced from the Carolina Reaper and the Naga Viper, which are the two hottest peppers in the world. According to reports, Harris Wolobah was a perfectly healthy teenager who did not have any preexisting medical issues that may have readily explained any possible difficulties. In spite of the fact that the findings of the autopsy have not yet been released, Harris’s mother has demanded that the product be removed from shelves immediately.

It is not quite apparent what may have caused the problems that ended up killing Wolobah. Pacqui has released a statement expressing sympathy but has refrained from providing any more remarks; nonetheless, it has been claimed that the product would be pulled from shop shelves in the United States as a result of the event.

What exactly is the One Chip Challenge?

The Paqui One Chip Challenge is more of an extreme sport than a snack that satisfies an appetite. Consumers are urged to postpone relieving the dreaded burn caused by consuming the chip for as long as possible in order to participate in the Paqui One Chip Challenge, which is sold by Amplify Snack Brands. A molecule of a component known as capsaicin causes heat-detecting nerves to transmit impulses to the nervous system, which results in the tremendous heat that peppers are known for. This chemical trick is what gives peppers their notoriously fiery reputation. The greater the amount of capsaicin that a dash of pepper has, the more our heat nerves are going to shout, “fire”!
