It’s been just reported that NATO members agreed that Ukraine would become a member of the organization. Check out more details about this below.
NATO to welcome Ukraine
According to the latest reports, it seems that Jens Stoltenberg has promised that Ukraine would join NATO throughout the war. Meanwhile, the Kremlin maintains that preventing this from happening is one of the goals of its war in Ukraine.
All NATO allies have agreed that Ukraine will become a member, says secretary general Jens Stoltenberg.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of the Ukraine defense contact group at Ramstein air base in Germany, he also told reporters that, once the war in Ukraine ends, Kyiv must have “the deterrence to prevent new attacks”.
He said that the main focus is now to ensure the country prevails against Russia.
It comes after Mr Stoltenberg yesterday pledged continued support for the country during his first visit to Kyiv since Russia’s invasion just over a year ago.
“Let me be clear, Ukraine’s rightful place is in the Euro-Atlantic family,” he told a news conference.

Business Insider posted the following in a new article:
“The United States does not support offering Ukraine a “road map” to NATO membership, believing it would be a distraction from immediate security needs and a boon to the Russian propaganda machine, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing officials familiar with talks taking place ahead of the military alliance’s July summit.”
Leaders from Poland and Estonia are among those who would like Ukraine to join the alliance sooner rather than later, according to officials who spoke with the Financial Times.
