NASA&SpaceX: Journey to the Future is a recently released documentary created by Science Channel in partnership with Discovery. The two-hour-long documentary tells the story of the first crewed mission, which was launched from the American soil in approximately nine years. The documentary aims to catch the attention of the large public, creating more controversy for the actual launch, scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

It is the first time that the agency manages to send into the outer space a privately-made spacecraft. The mission will be conducted by Bon Behnken and Doug Hurley, the two astronauts that will pilot SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Capsule. In addition to this, the documentary tells the behind the scenes story, creating a better overview of the relationship between Elon Musk and NASA’s officials. The story is told by the actor Walton Goggins.

Journey to the Future will be available on Monday at 9 p.m. ET and will be rebroadcasted the following day at 10 p.m. on Discovery Channel. The documentary offers a proper insight into the inner workings of this project, bringing interviews with Elon Musk itself and not only. Both astronauts will also state their opinions regarding this mission. Additionally, Administrator Jim Bridenstine from NASA tells the story of this mission.

Demo-2 is the actual mission, and hopefully, everything will take place as planned on Wednesday, when the Dragon Capsule is scheduled to launch at 4.33 p.m. all the events will be placed at the Launch Complex 39A located in the Kennedy Space Center. On the 21st of May, the Flight Readiness Review has offered NASA the green light to continue with this project.

The launch will prove to be successful only when the astronauts reach the International Space Station. Hopefully, this mission will be the debut for NASA, as the company is planning on developing Soyuz rockets on their own that would bring America one step ahead towards the outer space.
