Surely it’s very tempting for most of us to grab those huge discounts for Black Friday, but perhaps one of the richest men on Earth knows something we don’t know. Jeff Bezos is not so enthusiastic when it comes to Black Friday deals, and not because he can afford any product.

Buying expensive things ahead of the holiday season is not exactly a good idea in the view of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. He shared his thoughts during an interview for CNN, and he didn’t bring pretty exciting news.

Is the economy going through a recession?

Jeff Bezos was asked by reporter Chloe Melas if the economy is going through a recession, and here’s what the billionaire replied, according to Futurism:

What I can tell you is the economy does not look great right now.

Bezos also added that if we’re not in a recession now, there are chances that we’ll be in one very soon.

The Amazon CEO also stated, as the same source mentioned above quotes:

Take some risk off the table… keep some dry powder on hand,

If you’re thinking about buying a large screen TV, maybe slow that down, keep that cash, see what happens.

The statements of Jeff Bezos couldn’t possibly amaze us more, considering that he himself is the CEO of the online retailer that gladly offers Black Friday deals every year.

Jeff Bezos also recently announced that he is willing to give away his huge fortune. Bezos has long been regarded as one of the wealthiest people on Earth, and he has a fortune of about $114.5 billion. However, the richest person in the world is Elon Musk, a man whose net worth is almost twice as much as the one of Jeff Bezos – $203 billion, to be more precise.
