WhatsApp is the most popular chat app at this moment, and this means that it also receives constant updates that make sure it functions perfectly. Recently, iPhone users received a brand new WhatsApp update that appeared be a regular one

The description for the update was simply about “Bug Fixes”, but as it turns out, this update contains a lot more than that. After it was analyzed, it turned out that the update came with numerous fixes and features, that were not mentioned on the iTunes App Store. Here is what version 2.18.2 has to offer.

New additions

Thanks to the latest update, WhatsApp users will be able to access the application in the car easily. That is because the app will show up as one of the CarPlay dash interface icons. This also means that Siri support should become better for WhatsApp. This new change means that Siri will notify you whenever you receive a new WhatsApp message, and you can also choose to have them read out one by one.

Another addition is the Search option. While users were already able to use it in regular conversations, it appears that this update will also allow them to use this tool from the Group Info menu. This means that you will now be able to search through group chats for whatever keywords you need.

Groups received other additions as well. For example, there will be a new in-chat notification that will show you how many times you are mentioned in messages that you haven’t read. Additionally, when you look at the participants’ list in the Group Info section you will be able to see the administrators placed at the top of the list.

Finally, the messages with an emoji that appear in Quote Reply will show up bigger than before, which will make them easier to read.
