Most of us have gained a few pounds thanks to a sudden change in our lifestyle. Many of us became a lot less active than usual which has led to weight gain. The good news is that we can all lose those pounds that we have gained during these strange times.

While you might feel ashamed about gaining weight, it’s perfectly normal. We were all thrust into a very stressful and unusual situation. When this occurs, many of us are likely to comfort eat or feel more hungry than usual. This is perfectly normal and is a part of our body’s natural response to a crisis.

Cut Down on Snacking

Try to reduce how many snacks you eat. Instead, replace the snacks with fruit or vegetables. Alternatively, you could opt for low calorie snacks instead. This will help you to reduce your calorific intake and ensure that you’re more likely to lose weight.

If you are tempted to snack try to limit how many times you enjoy a snack. Have one unhealthy snack and one healthy snack a day. This will ensure you consume fewer calories even though you’re still enjoying your favorite snack.

Exercise More

We were all encouraged to continue exercising when this country was first affected by the pandemic. However, this was often easier said than done. It might have been impossible to go for your daily run or visit your gym. The good news is it’s now much easier to get the exercise you need. This means you can start to exercise again. If you’re lacking motivation you may want to hire a personal trainer to help you or ask a friend to join you.

When you move more you lose more weight. Find an exercise routine you love and watch the weight fall off.

Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables aren’t only full of nutrition they can also help you to stay full. This is because fruits and vegetables are full of fiber which takes a long time to digest. Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. Try to avoid too many fruit juices as they are often high in sugar.

Try to add at least one portion of fruit or vegetables to every meal that you have. This will ensure you get used to eating something healthy.

Drink More Water

Did you know that drinking water can help you to lose weight? This is because it can help you to eat a little less. Simply drink a glass of water before you eat a meal. You will feel a little fuller and you’re less likely to binge on calories. Water is also a great antioxidant as it helps to flush all of those toxins out of your body.

Use the above tips to help you lose weight. Make sure you’re not too hard on yourself. Everyone gains weight from time to time, it’s perfectly normal. With a little bit of work you too could soon find that you have lost your lockdown weight.
