Nuclear Disarmament scene is a special cinematic from the Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain that is normally unlocked and played when every single nuclear weapon on a game’s server is dismantled. However, the scene was unlocked on Steam even though, there is no sign for the following chapter, Chapter 3: Peace.

Nuclear Disarmament cutscene was unlocked on Steam

For the last two years and a half, the nuclear weapons numbers on all platforms have fluctuated but never reached to zero.

Last week’s statistics on Steam showed thousands of active nukes for the PC version of the Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. Surprisingly, a couple of days ago, the Nuclear Disarmament scene was unlocked and played on Steam.

No one knows what did happen but some rumors lead to Konami which, supposedly, made some changes in the triggering of the cinematic. However, Konami has been asked to look into this strange situation for the game’s fans.

Konami replied

The Konami developers took a look on this case and replied today that, indeed, the nukes numbers didn’t reach to zero but still didn’t offer any info about how the Nuclear Disarmament scene has unlocked. They promise the keep us updated on this problem.
