The last Auto Show in LA didn’t make much of a statement when the auto enthusiasts saw only SUVs and electric cars. They were expecting to see or hear some things about the next Ford Bronco and Mustang Shelby GT500. And when none of these vehicles got to appear at the last year’s exhibition, the public got even more confused.
There was no official answer to why we didn’t get to see anything about these vehicles.
We think that it might have something to do with the attention Tesla drew with their EV, probably having an advantage over the new Fords and lowering the success they would have otherwise had.
But now we’re getting close to the Detroit Auto Show that will happen this month, so Ford could bring out their brand new Bronco and Mustang Shelby GT500 to stun us with their new designs and features.
The 2020 Ford Bronco
The Chief Technical Officer from Ford, Raj Nair said that the new Bronco will look different from the Everest and it will be smaller than the original one, but bigger than the Bronco II from the 1980’s.
We also have some information from the alleged Ford designer. He said that the future Bronco will also come in an off-road version. This information adds up to Nair’s assertion that Bronco’s main competitor would be the Wrangler.
What we’ll certainly not see is a two-door Bronco.
The vehicle will be built in the US, at the Michigan Assembly Plant.
Expect to see a 4×4 utility that will also have an off-road functionality, but will bring space and versatility – like a SUV. Drivers will be able to use it for the daily commute or to ride on gravel roads and boulders.
The Mustang Shelby GT500
This vehicle is a 2019 model that will soon arrive this year. It will have as rivals the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The GT500 will get to over 200 mph and will come with carbon-ceramic brakes and some other interesting features that are going to be officially presented at the incoming North American International Auto Show from Detroit.
If it doesn’t have 2 doors and you can’t take the top off, then it’s not a Bronco.
