Dry hair is not only a sign of unhealthy hair with an inappropriate appearance, but also it is hard to give it a proper look. Fortunately, dry hair does not mean that there is a severe medical condition. This can be the result of too much sun exposure, humidity, using heat devices to style it, or smoking that can influence the way your hair responds to these stimuli. To prevent this, you can try out the following remedies that are quick and easy to prepare from the comfort of your home.

  1. Have your hair cut

Should your hair be too damaged, the best idea would be to give it a refresh with a cut. Even though your hair might not be at your desired length, split ends can be a burden when it comes to styling it, offering your hair an unpleasing appearance and a coarse structure.

Therefore, pay a visit to your hairstylist and ask which would be the most beneficial trim for both your hair and its appearance. In addition to this, your stylist is the best person to ask for any products that might suit the length of your trim and the type. Keep that in mind, as it may be crucial to prevent your hair from becoming damaged again.

    1. Vitamins

You know how important vitamins can be for a healthy body, but did you know that vitamins can impact the way your hair grows? The best supplements should include Vitamin A and C, biotin, as well as iron. One of the most used such vitamins for this purpose are prenatal vitamins, which are sometimes used by those wishing to change the appearance of their hair. Research has shown that the supplements containing the only biotin are not the most effective medicine to take. In the meantime, it is advised to opt for marine protein supplements that have proven their efficiency, as per multiple analyses.

    1. Omega-3s and Antioxidants: a balanced diet

This category includes the most appreciated supplements, the marine proteins, which can be found in salmon, oysters, sardines, mackerel and tuna. The result of a marine diet is a shinier hair. Moreover, antioxidants are the key to prevent your hair from becoming older. The aliments that offer you the highest intake of antioxidants are walnuts, blueberries, kidney beans, broccoli, and tomatoes.

  1. Wash your hair as less as possible

The primary objective of a shampoo is to remove sweat and dirt from your hair. However, each wash eliminates the sebum from it, which is the natural oil responsible for maintaining your hair shiny. When sebum is in excess, it provides a greasy appearance. Should you present a severe greasy condition, try to use either baby shampoo or a shampoo specifically designated for your hair type.

  1. Do not use heating products

The drying process could lead to too much moisture lost during the drying process. Therefore, wrap your hair in a towel and leave it dry by itself. Another alternative is to sleep with your hair wet on a silk pillowcase, which keeps the water from reaching the pillow feathers.

Additionally, try to eliminate as much as possible the drying products and keep the dryer at 30cm away from your hair.

  1. Colder showers for healthy hair

Cold showers are a vital asset to accelerate the hair growth. Wash your hair, apply the conditioner, and rinse it under a cooler temperature, which would also be a revitalizing boost for your scalp.

  1. Other small things that you can do without too much effort

Coconut oil is a natural emollient, which fills in the gaps that have been caused by heat or sun.

Wear a hat to protect your hair from the UV rays during daily activities.

Use Moroccan argan oil, peppermint oil, or lavender oil as a conditioner.
