Ford Ranger has been an iconic nameplate for pickup trucks since 1983. The model was designed to replace Ford Courier and it was the first one designed by Ford. The truck has evolved tremendously and the 2019 model will bring necessary modern and improved features.
The Interior of the 2019 Ford Ranger
The 2019 pickup truck by Ford receives several changes and improvements for its interior: a new steering wheel, waterproof storage compartments under the rear seats and Sync 3 infotainment duties: 3.8, 4 or 8-inch touch screen.
The infotainment system will feature Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. Also 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for as many as 10 devices and a B&O Play premium sound system are also going to be available.
Safety features
The 2019 Ford Ranger will come with automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera for all Ranger models and adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and lane-departure will be features available to purchase.
Under the hood specifications
According to Ford, the 2019 Ranger will feature a 2.3 liter turbocharged full-cylinder, modified for truck duty. The forged crankshaft and connecting rods are similar with the ones from the Mustang model. The engine will have a 10-speed automatic transmission and it will provide two or four-wheel drive configurations. Other features are a full-boxed frame, specific suspension tuning and Dana axles.
Those who enjoy off road will appreciate the four-mode Terrain Management System. It will have throttle response, transmission gear selection, traction controls for regular roads, mud, san and snow or gravel surfaces. The Trail Control feature can also be purchased and it will act as cruise control system.
The variants available in 2019 will be XL, XLT and Lariat trims and they are expected in the first quarter of 2019.
