Doing the right stuff in the morning as soon as you open your eyes can be decisive for how the rest of the day will go on for you. Perhaps you’re tired of all those alleged motivational gurus out there on the internet who tell you what you should or should not do in the morning in order to have a good day. Well, guess what? We’re here to bring you similar pieces of advice as well!
Each and every person out there is different, which can only mean that the tips mentioned here won’t work for anybody. But still, they can make many of you start your day with a much better mood and a more confident vibe. Let’s cut to the chase, as life is short, and we can’t afford to waste any time:
Avoid your smartphone
Guess what most people do in 2023 as soon as they wake up? That’s it: grabbing their phone and checking the notifications on what’s new on social apps, YouTube, and so on. Obviously, you don’t want to be like most people; you want to be a true champion!
Smartphones, along with their apps, were designed in such a way to keep you hypnotized and glued to them. They will steal your focus and trigger an addictive behavior. It’s in their best interest, of course, as that’s how they make money, so we can’t really judge them. The purpose of getting out of bed in the morning is to face the real world, not the virtual world. That alone is a strong enough reason that grabbing your phone as soon as you wake up in the morning is a bad idea.
Do some physical exercise
Whether you’re a guy or a gal, doing some light physical exercises in the morning as soon as you open your eyes is a great idea. Even a bit of stretching can help. If you’re a guy, go for the 20 sets of pushups; you’ll feel amazing after that! The good news is that it’s not mandatory to have any weights at home in order to do regular physical exercise. You can simply go for simple exercises that anybody can do without any weights or going to the gym. You can try pushups or squats. If, on the other hand, you feel like a true champion, you can go for a few pull-ups.
Brush your teeth
Our breaths will naturally smell bad in the morning, and who knows when the girl of your dreams might knock at your door and be willing to give you mouth-to-mouth breathing? And, let’s face it: would you like to speak to a person whose breath smells like a dumpster, whether you want to kiss the person or just listen to what they have to say? Of course not. Obviously, starting your day with a fresh and good-smelling breath is a ‘must.’ It not only makes you be perceived as more confident, but it will even make you feel more energized and motivated to start your day.
Grab a cup of hot coffee
Drinking a cup of hot coffee as soon as you wake up is one of the best ways to start your day. It will make you feel revigorated and willing to face the challenges of the day with lots of motivation. Drinking coffee can make your body process glucose levels more efficiently, and some studies show that it could even make you live a longer life.
Be grateful
Try to be grateful that you have a new day up ahead and that you have the chance to do what you want, whether you wish to make some money, go see a movie at the cinema, buy something new, and so on. The simple fact that you are a human is the best thing that can happen to you. Remember that! Therefore, it’s highly important to be grateful for such a chance. You can be grateful to God, to another deity, or simply to nature/the Universe if you’re an atheist/nonbeliever. It is extremely important to be grateful. At the same time, you can remind yourself about the fact that each and every day, tens of thousands of people die across the world from various causes. But you’re alive and present there, in the moment, ready and willing to do amazing things on that specific day.
Set your plan
Establish in your mind what you have to do for the day that comes. Realize the importance of those tasks and that you are fully capable of accomplishing them. Realize that you’re an adult who has all it takes to succeed. And if not, be willing to push yourself beyond limits to accomplish your goals. Don’t forget that old saying that says that the master has failed more times than the beginner has ever tried. In other words, don’t be afraid of failure, as that’s precisely what could make you not try in the first place.
Think about the evanescence of life
The American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said that what would be the purpose of getting out of bed in the morning if we could live forever? The simple fact that our life will end at some point should motivate us to succeed, as we won’t always have the time needed to reach our goals. For some strange reason, nobody seems to be affected by the fact that one day, each of us will die. We should be stricken with anxiety because of the fact that our time here is limited, but it doesn’t happen, which is one of the biggest mysteries of life. Jordan Peterson pointed out that idea.
