This Simple Eating Habit Will Make You Live a Longer Life

There’s a great paradox that when we are young, we are frightened by the idea of getting old. But at the same time, most of us want to live for many years, which means that we inevitably want to become old. As many believe that finding the key to living a long life is a difficult task, especially in the dangerous society that we all live in, it’s actually a lot easier.

Eat a combo of 3 vegetables and 2 fruits per day

Serving five meals per day of any combination of vegetables and fruits could extend our life, according to a new study. Those who choose the method have a 13% lower risk of death than others. Dr. Dong Wang, who’s a member of the faculty of medicine from Harvard University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, declared:

Most Americans have a very low intake — one serving of fruit and one and a half servings of vegetables — per day.

He also added:

Eating about five servings a day was associated with the lowest risk of death. That five can be translated into two servings of fruit and three servings of vegetables a day.

As for those willing to eat even more servings a day while hoping to achieve immortality or live hundreds of years, Wang has bad news. Eating even more servings cannot do you any harm, of course, but they won’t increase your life even more.

The analysis of data came from over 100,000 health care professionals who were followed for about three decades.
