Many people’s favorite way of relaxing is sleeping, and when they have a free day or they are on holiday they tend to sleep more. Waking up at 7 am on a Saturday morning might only be satisfying when you realize you can get back to your dream because you do not have any work today. When asked about their favorite hobbies, some people say baking, some say painting, but some say sleeping.

The latter ones are actually hurting themselves when they sleep too much because both sleeping more and less than you are supposed to is not suitable for your health. People are sleeping in or simply getting more sleep than required risk suffering from strokes, according to a recent study. More than three million participants were involved in this exciting study between 1970 and 2017.

Sleeping Too Much Might Cause Stroke

The scientists working on this research came to the conclusion that there are higher risks of stroke for people who 10 hours of sleep every night. The risk of death from stroke is increased by 56 percent if you sleep for more than 10 hours, and the one for heart disease is higher 49 percent. According to the leader of the research, Dr. Chun Shing Kwok, the study shows that there are elevated cardiovascular risks when we sleep too much, so it gives it a substantial public health impact.

Clinicians should pay more attention, their findings suggest, on the sleeping schedule of their patients if they do not want to risk their lives. It is essential to get the recommended amount of sleep based on your age instead of going for more or for less because balance is the key to success not only in life but also when it comes to your health.
