Stretch marks are lines visible on the skin surface with a slightly lighter hue than the natural pigment of the skin.

Sometimes stretch marks can cover large areas of the body. As pregnancy is the main cause for these marks, we can also talk about other reasons such as: sudden weight gain or loss, hereditary factors, stress, changes in physical conditions and rapid growth.

Here are 4 natural remedies that can improve the look of the stretch marks!

The skin has three main layers: the epidermis (outer layer), the dermis (middle layer) and the subcutaneous or hypodermic layer (the deepest layer). Stretch marks are formed in the dermis or middle layer of the skin when the connective tissue is “stretched” beyond the strength of its flexibility due to rapid expansion or contraction of the skin.

If the skin is extremely stretched, the collagen level is weakened and its normal production cycle is interrupted and damaged. This eventually leads to fine scars beneath the upper layer of the skin. Originally scars are pink or red, but in time the color becomes silver, open. Stretch marks appear on the surface of the skin when someone is growing fast in weight. Fortunately, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks or to improve them.

Castor oil

Castor oil is used to treat a large number of skin problems: wrinkles, age spots, moles, dark spots, fine lines, or baskets. It can also be used to improve the appearance of stretch marks.

Aloe vera

With soothing and healing properties, aloe vera juice can be used to get rid of stretch marks. There are several ways to apply it to your skin:

  • You can directly apply aloe vera gel to the affected area of the skin for 15 minutes, then rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
  •  Another option is to mix a spoonful of aloe vera, 10 capsules of vitamin E and five vitamin A capsules. This mixture will be applied on the affected skin and will be massaged daily on absorption.

Egg white

Eggs are a rich source of protein. For stretch marks, you only need to use egg white because it contains amino acids and proteins. Beat two egg lightly with a fork. Clean the affected area with water and then apply a thick layer of egg whites with a makeup brush. The composition is left on the skin to dry, and the area is then rinsed with cold water. Eventually, olive oil is applied to the skin to keep it moisturized.

Lemon juice

Another simple way to reduce stretch marks is to use lemon juice. This is acid, which helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acne and other scars. Stretch marks will be leavened with lemon juice circularly for 5-10 minutes. Leave the lemon juice to be absorbed into the skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Another option is to mix 2 equal quantities of cucumber juice and lemon juice, then apply the mixture to the skin, left for at least 10 minutes and rinse with hot water.
