Working out doesn’t automatically involve expensive gym memberships and fancy equipment. Here are 10 exercises you can do in the comfort of your own home and still achieve results.
- Walking doesn’t require any special equipment or outfit. All you need is nice weather and you’re good to go. If you want to feel the burn and work those legs and glutes, all you need to do is power walk.
- Jumping Jacks will take back to your childhood as we’ve all done it back then without knowing what a great cardio exercise this is. Not only they are fun to do but they are also ideal for workout warm ups.
- Pushups are difficult to do so people tend to avoid them. Remember that you are doing it for yourself and not to impress the ones around you so do whatever works for you. Start on your knees or change the exercise altogether and do pushups against the wall. It is not as difficult and you will work up your arm strength and the muscles in the chest area.
- Leg Lifts are ideal for working the muscles in your legs and building up strength. If they are too difficult at first, bend the legs slightly instead of keeping them straight.
- Crunches are famous for strengthening abdominal muscles. They may seem quite challenging to begin with so don’t worry about getting your head all the way up. It is the abdominal area you need to focus on so as long as you feel those muscles working, you’re going to see results.
- As weird as it may sound, Jogging In Place is an excellent type of exercise to increase your heart rate. If the weather is bad and you can’t go for a jog outside, put on a pair of shoes to take the stress off your legs and jog at home, in front of the TV.
- Squats work miracles for your legs and glutes. If you can’t do as many reps as you’d like at first, use a chair and just sit and stand up from it and repeat until you feel the burn kicking in.
- Light Weight Lifting allows you to use whatever you’ve got around the house such as cans of beans or bottles of water and work your way up as you’re building strength.
- Dancing is a great, fun way of elevating that heart rate. Go out with your friends and dance that stress away!
- If you’ve got a set of stairs in your house you can do Step Exercises to tone up those legs muscles.
