Since the US is the most affected country in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic, experts see the vaccination rollout as the salvation. But despite the expectations, not everybody wants to get vaccinated, and they cannot be blamed for that.

CNBC’s YouTube channel proposes an intriguing subject: what went wrong with the US Coronavirus vaccine rollout?

The description summarizes the bad situation of the COVID-19 vaccination in the US:

States are reporting limited supply of vaccines, leading them to delay appointments and close clinics to the public. Some states lack staff and essential resources to get the job done. With little guidance from the previous White House administration on how to effectively administer vaccines, it’s up to states and local health officials to get the job done.

However, there’s still hope:

President Joe Biden announced the administration will buy 200 million more vaccines and institute a national vaccine program to vaccinate 100 million doses in his first 100 days.

The New York Times writes that over 27 million Americans got their first COVID-19 vaccine dose, while more than six million citizens had received both shots.

Approaching 475,000 COVID-19 deaths

The US has a staggering amount of deaths caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus: 474,532, according to data provided by worldometers.info. The same source reveals that the US reported a total of over 27.5 million infections, while we’re happy to find out that over 17.3 million infected patients had been recovered. The most affected American states are California (over 3.3 million cases), Texas (over 2.4 million cases), Florida (over 1.7 million cases), New York (over 1.5 million cases), Illinois (over 1.1 million cases), and so on.

The new COVID-19 strain from the UK is one of the latest concerns in the US. CNBC writes that the strain is even doubling in the US every ten days.
