Everyone probably feels the same now – that we’re just about to get out of 2020 which turned out to be one of the most (if not THE most) nightmarish years of our generation.

People all over the world have been fighting this invisible enemy who has been causing visible disasters and tragedies.

On the other hand, we can still believe in a better future and a life that can get back as close to normality as possible due to various new coronavirus treatments and some potentially viable vaccines that are on the way.

Tragedies in India

But, some breaking news terrified people again – it seems that something awful is going on in India at the moment.

IFL Science just revealed that there are at least 300 people that have been hospitalized in India with an unidentified illness in the city called Eluru. The news was released by India Health Minister A Kali Krishna Srinivas.

It’s been reported that since Saturday evening, hundreds of people – which also include several children and young children – have been admitted to the hospital following some pretty terrible symptoms ranging from vomiting to seizures.

“The people who fell sick, especially the children, suddenly started vomiting after complaining of burning eyes,” a medical officer at Eluru Government Hospital told The Indian Express.

The same officer said: “Some of them fainted or suffered bouts of seizures. Some were in critical condition when they were brought in on Saturday, but now all of them are safe.”

It’s been also reported that there are also some other symptoms included such as nausea, anxiety, and even loss of consciousness.

“We ruled out water contamination or air pollution as the cause after officials visited the areas where people fell sick. Water samples were sent for testing, and no contamination was found. Blood samples of the patients have been sent to labs. No viral infection has been detected,” Srinivas told The Indian Express.

“It is some mystery illness, and only lab analysis will reveal what it is.”

Stay tuned for more details as this story is still developing.
