The coronavirus pandemic continues to hit Europe pretty hard, judging by the data reported by countries such as France, the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, and more. The Omicron variant is believed to have become more prevalent than before. Although it was first thought that the strain isn’t more dangerous than the others, it spreads faster.

As mentioned, France is also one of those countries hardly hit by COVID during the Omicron wave. There’s no wonder why we hear in the news about famous people being affected as well by the ongoing pandemic.

Twins Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff die of COVID

Twins Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff, two famous French TV stars of 72 years of age, have died of COVID after they refused to get vaccinated against the disease, according to CBS NEWS.

The two guys were twins, and they got hospitalized last month due to illness resulting from the coronavirus infection. Grichka died in an intensive care unit a few days after the arrival of 2022, on December 28. His brother passed away only six days later.

The Bogdanoff twins had been known in the 1980s as TV stars in France. They participated in science shows that became popular pretty fast.

The pandemic situation in France is reaching unprecedented heights. If we take a look at worldometers.info, we find out that the European country has reported a total of over 270,000 infections for yesterday, January 4. Thus, the total number of infections due to the coronavirus has reached a total of over 10.5 million cases since the pandemic started. As for the total number of those who lost the battle with the disease, France counts over 124,000 souls that left this world, hopefully for a better one.

The Omicron variant has also become dominant in the US, and experts are looking for solutions to stop the spread.
