We all know that so many people around the world are reluctant when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines. But that may soon change if the recent statements of Dr. Anthony Fauci are right, the US top infectious disease expert. He believes that after the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) grants full approval for a coronavirus vaccine, businesses and schools across the US will deal with a flood of vaccine mandates.
The news comes from USA TODAY. Although mandates won’t happen at the federal level, vaccine approval will encourage many groups, according to Dr. Fauci. The medical expert explained, as quoted by USA TODAY:
Organizations, enterprises, universities, colleges that have been reluctant to mandate at the local level will feel much more confident,
They can say, ‘If you want to come to this college or this university, you’ve got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this plant, you have to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this enterprise, you’ve got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this hospital, you’ve got to get vaccinated.’
As for possible lockdowns in the near future, Mr. Fauci has some good news. Such measures were implemented early in the pandemic to prevent hospitals from getting overwhelmed. He believes that lockdowns won’t be necessary for the future.
Dr. Anthony Fauci also didn’t hesitate to speak about how he’s attacked online and the situation regarding misinformation about vaccination and the pandemic in general. He said that we’re living in a dystopian world where the public is awash in lies regarding COVID and vaccinations.
Our World in Data reveals that 29.9% of the planet’s population was vaccinated with at least a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 15.4% is already fully vaccinated. Also, a number of 4.43 billion doses were administered worldwide, while 39.99 million are administered every day.
