The National Health Service from the UK considers that children between the ages of 5 to 11 years old must be vaccinated for COVID. Thus, the goal is getting them immunized against the coronavirus, and the deadline is very close: the Spring.
The news is brought by Breitbart.com, and it will surely trigger a massive wave of reactions online, both pros and cons.
Parents will be asked for permission
There’s no use to think, at least for now, that the children will be forced to get vaccinated against COVID. A senior source spoke about the importance of vaccinating the little ones. Such a decision is important in fighting the pandemic, as he suggests. The same source stated for The Sun:
Top secret plans reveal what is at stake if we are to achieve a meaningful victory over Covid. Asking parents for permission to jab kids as young as five is in the schedule,
Nothing is in the public domain yet, and the plans could change, but jabbing young children is backed by many scientists.
The source added for the same publication:
It is controversial, but will help us reach our goal.
In order for individuals so young to be targeted by the vaccination campaigns across the world, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) will both have something to say here. An MHRA spokesman said, as quoted by Breitbart.com:
Extending the use of a COVID-19 vaccine to children aged five to 11 would only be authorised if the expected standards of safety, quality and effectiveness are met.
