If you’re not a fan of getting vaccinated for COVID with three doses, maybe you’ll like four. The Health Ministry of Israel claims that getting vaccinated for the coronavirus with four shots will grant you three times more protection against severe illness if you’re over 60 years of age, according to The Times of Israel.
The same Health Ministry also revealed that if you don’t want to get infected with COVID during the current wave and you’re in the age group specified above, you’ll be two times more protected against such a scenario if you choose to get the fourth COVID shot.
Hundreds of thousands of people analyzed
Hundreds of thousands of individuals had been analyzed for the new findings. According to the ministry, the figures are the result of the analysis made by experts from leading academic and health institutions.
The figures are based on 400,000 Israeli individuals who got the fourth COVID vaccine dose, as well as 600,000 who underwent the three-dose scheme.
More and more companies demand three doses of a COVID vaccine for their employees. It’s even the case of giant tech firms such as Apple and Meta. However, those Apple employees who aren’t fans of mandatory COVID vaccinations also have the option to get tested regularly.
Apple stated, as The Verge quotes:
Due to waning efficacy of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and the emergence of highly transmissible variants such as Omicron, a booster shot is now part of staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination to protect against severe disease.
It’s interesting to see in the near future if tech companies will demand a fourth COVID vaccine dose from their employees. Obviously, not everybody will like the idea if it shall be imposed, so we can expect new waves of protests.
