Various companies across the world continue to demand their staff to get vaccinated or tested for COVID. They are very confident in their measures, and the official data regarding the numbers of COVID infections and deaths that are reported throughout the world are supporting them.
Worldometers.info once again reveals terrifying numbers, even when it comes to the USA. The hardest-hit country by the ongoing pandemic is reporting a new surge of the coronavirus, and some even believe that it’s unprecedented. European countries such as the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy are dealing with tens of thousands of infections every day. Their health systems are struggling to resist.
Starbucks demands vaccinations or tests as of February 9 for all US employees
According to CBSNews.com, the famous American multinational chain of coffeehouses and roastery known as Starbucks will demand COVID vaccinations or weekly tests for all of its workers from the US as of February 9.
The domestic Starbucks workforce counts roughly 220,000 souls, and they’ll all have very little time to disclose their vaccination status. The dead-end is on January 10, meaning in less than a week.
As expected, the new Omicron variant is what’s triggering the most concerns across the Starbucks staff as well. There’s no wonder why, though, considering that experts always said that it’s more contagious than the Delta variant.
John Culver, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks, declared, as quoted by CBSNews.com:
The vaccine is the best option we have, by far, when it comes to staying safe and slowing the spread of COVID-19,
It’s concerning to see this new variant has pushed daily COVID-19 case counts higher than the Delta wave at its peak.
