Alzheimer’s disease can tear down even the most intelligent man if it installs in his organism. The condition is terrible, as it can bring a person back to the same state when he or she was a toddler.
Our memories are probably the most precious thing we have, but we can lose them if we don’t take good care of our health.
Alzheimer’s disease looked like an incurable disease for many years. But medical researchers are making significant steps for learning how to treat it.
Simufilam improves cognition for Alzheimer’s patients
According to Yahoo! Finance, the drug known as Simufilam shows great results in improving cognition for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Cassava Sciences, Inc. made the drug, and it released the announcement of positive clinical data.
There weren’t even safety issues for the results. The clinical data was summarized from the first 50 patients suffering from mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
However, severe Alzheimer’s disease is much worse than mild and moderate forms. The most dangerous forms can wipe out the memory and cognition of a person almost completely. With the other forms, the ill person can still go on with his or her life in a manner that’s close to normal.
Remi Barbier, who is President & CEO, declared as quoted by Yahoo! Finance:
We are very pleased with the overall consistency of data,
Simufilam improved cognition, biomarkers and behavior, a triple-win for study participants. These clinical data combined with a clean safety profile and easy oral administration suggest highly encouraging and durable treatment effects for people living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Treating Alzheimer’s disease sure is costly. While the number of Americans dealing with the form of dementia is expected to rise in the following years, there’s an estimation that the US may spend $1 trillio until 2050 for treating the disease.
