Not All Masks Qualify for the Biden Administration’s “100 Days Masking Challenge”

The new President of the USA, Mr. Joe Biden, challenges the Americans to wear facemasks as much as possible for his first 100 days in office. Seen as a great measure to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, facemasks became mandatory across the US in all federal buildings and lands.

Choosing yourself the right mask can become even more challenging, as EastIdahoNews.com reveals that not any type of face-covering qualifies. With so many sorts of facemasks available on the market, you should aim for a specific one to be sure of the best protection possible.

Go for an N95 mask

N95 masks are the best choice for face coverings that protect you from COVID-19, and the explanation is simple: these masks can block 95% of particles by using a unique electrostatic filter. The filter traps bacteria and viruses before they pass through the mask itself.

Anthony Fauci, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director, declared for CNN:

An N95 that’s well-fitted clearly is the best that you can do,

You could get production of that at a much higher rate now.

Dr. Abraar Karan, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School physician, also adds a lot of faith in the N95 masks:

If we have better personal protection for people, they can more safely go back to work. They can more safely re-engage, especially if testing and tracing is not where we need it to be,

This was going to be one way to get people back in and get the economy back up.

The US sure needs as many urgent measures for slowing down the COVID-19 pandemic as possible. The country is currently lagging its vaccination rollout of the drugs developed by Pfizer and Moderna.
