Remember back in late 2019 or early 2020 when everybody was terrified that they could get infected with COVID? Those times are over, and whether we like it or not, most Americans have already been infected with the coronavirus.

The world has also come up with plenty of medical ways to tackle the COVID pandemic. There are medications and vaccines now, and they saved numerous lives.

60 percent of Americans have been infected with COVID

According to The New York Times, new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) claims that about 60 percent of Americans have had the coronavirus already by February 2022. Among them, there are three-quarters of children.

The news shouldn’t surprise anyone, as the US is easily the most affected country in the world by the COVID pandemic. The stats brought by worldometers.info confirm it – since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 82.9 million infections and over one million deaths caused by the coronavirus were reported by the US.

However, the US has reported fewer infections with the virus in the last weeks, which made many believe that the light from the end of the tunnel is close.

Dr. Anthony Fauci recently brought a claim for ‘NewsHour’ of PBS that made many people happy: The top infectious disease expert said, as CNN quoted:

We are certainly, right now, in this country, out of the pandemic phase,

Namely, we don’t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now. So if you’re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country? We are,

The most affected American state by the pandemic is California, followed by Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, and so on.
