Everybody was extremely happy to find out that US President Joe Biden was found negative for COVID after a few days of infection and treatment with Paxlovid. The result came after Joe Biden was found positive for the coronavirus over a week ago.
But it seems that COVID works in mysterious ways. The US President tested positive once again on Saturday. He doesn’t experience symptoms this time, but still, the President will isolate once again in order to protect others.
Joe Biden confirmed the news through his Twitter account on Saturday, July 30, where he wrote:
Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again.
This happens with a small minority of folks.
I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me.
I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor spoke about the US President’s situation, as CNBC quotes:
The President has experienced no reemergence of symptoms, and continues to feel quite well,
This being the case, there is no reason to reinitiate treatment at this time, but we will obviously continue close observation.
The doctor confirmed that Joe Biden would reinitiate the strict isolation measures. O’Connor added, as the same source quotes:
As I’ve stated previously, the President continues to be very specifically conscientious to protect any of the Executive Residence, White House, Secret Service and other staff whose duties require any (albeit socially distanced) proximity to him
Even though Joe Biden is in the risk age group for COVID, it was well-known from the start that there are no major reasons to worry about his health. The US President is vaccinated and ‘boosted’ for the coronavirus.
As for how the situation looks for the rest of the world, the BA.4 and BA.5 variants of the coronavirus continue to spread. Yesterday, a number of over 900,000 new infections with the virus were reported across the world, according to worldometers.info.
