The COVID-19 pandemic not only has caused a lot of sorrow, unemployment, and deaths across the world. We’ve all witnessed plenty of hilarious moments, from pet owners forcing their dogs to wear masks and to air travellers wearing diapers to avoid using the plane’s bathroom.
But even amusing ways of protection against COVID-19 can work and save lives. Wearing two masks at the same time also seems like an amusing and exaggerated method of protection, but it can surely be efficient against the coronavirus.
Dr. Anthony Fauci supports double masking
You don’t have to be Einstein’s reincarnation to figure out that two masks are better than one, as Dr. Fauci also suggests by declaring for NBC’s Today Show and cited by marketwatch.com:
It just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective,
That’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95.
For those who don’t know, Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which means that listening to what he has to say is a good idea.
Oddly enough, there’s no word yet from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding double masking.
Wearing a facemask remains one of the three basic guidelines for protecting yourself and the others against COVID-19, as the other two methods are frequently washing your hands and maintaining social distancing.
The ongoing pandemic continues to ravage the US, as the country reported easily over 26 million infections and more than 436, 000 deaths. The vaccination rollout is not doing bad at all, as over 20 million doses of the drugs developed either by Pfizer or Moderna were administered for the American people. We can expect that many more individuals will be added to the list soon enough.
