Dr. Anthony Fauci will once again occupy the front row news, and this time it shall be with statements that will delight many. He informs us that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is considering reducing the recommended COVID isolation period in the case of those who are fully vaccinated, according to CNN.

Health care workers who have positive tests for COVID but lack symptoms are especially targeted by the CDC’s intent. If they indeed return to work sooner from isolation, they’ll have to wear N95 masks and other equipment for personal protection. No definitive decision has been made yet.

Dr. Fauci explained for John Berman from CNN on “New Day”:

For example, if you get a health care worker who is infected and without any symptoms at all, you don’t want to keep that person out of work too very long because, particularly if we get a run on hospital beds and the need for health care personnel, that’s something that at least will be considered, at least considered.

While everybody is waiting for Christmas and New Year’s Eve to come, Fauci also has some good news here as well. Also, according to CNN, the top infectious disease expert says that those who are fully vaccinated with the third dose for COVID shouldn’t have a problem while traveling for the Holidays and gathering with others who are also vaccinated. But there’s another catch here, as Fauci also declared, while cited by the same source:

You want to be prudent and always be extra special careful, because you’re dealing with an unprecedented situation of a virus that has an extraordinary capability of transmitting.

The Omicron variant is the latest concern regarding the COVID pandemic, as it’s spreading even faster than previous strains.
