Plenty of officials are urging people to get vaccinated for COVID. Dr. Anthony Fauci is one of them. The situation sometimes becomes overwhelming for the public. Those reluctant about COVID vaccines are accusing that their freedoms are taken away.
Day by day, more people are getting vaccinated for COVID. In the US, about half of the population is fully vaccinated for the coronavirus, according to Our World in Data. There’s nothing surprising here. The US remains the hardest-hit country by the ongoing pandemic.
No bars and restaurants for the unvaccinated, says Dr. Jonathan Reiner
Dr. Jonathan Reiner is a CNN Medical Analyst and also a professor of medicine and surgery from George Washington University. The man brought an intriguing statement while speaking to Fredricka Whitfield from CNN.
What the expert said will likely generate a wave of fuss and discontent. Dr. Reiner declared, as quoted by CNN:
What I would say bluntly is: If you are not vaccinated right now in the United States, you should not go into a bar, you should probably not eat at a restaurant. You are at great risk of becoming infected.
But Dr. Reiner also brought an “apocalyptic” scenario into the discussion, as also revealed by CNN. He warns about the danger of many people continuing to refuse COVID vaccinations.
That would lead to two remaining options to control the spread. One of them is to shut down businesses, which obviously, few people would want. The US economy will have a lot to suffer.
The other option is to return to masks. Let’s face it: pretty much nobody likes wearing them, but this measure would surely be much more comfortable than shutting a lot of businesses down and force people to not go to work.
