There is not much evidence that people can get COVID after buying food and other products. But despite this, China imposed quarantine and closure of stores in some of its cities. The reason is that traces of the coronavirus were found on Vietnamese, Thai fruits from the Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces, according to scmp.com.

Some cities from the Asian country even started emergency screenings for the virus on imported food. Fruit buyers were ordered to quarantine.

The Omicron variant is currently the reason for most concerns related to COVID. There has been a lot of debate about the strain, and it’s believed to be spreading significantly faster than the others.

However, the former FDA Commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, brings some good news to the world. He believes that, overall, Omicron indicates to be a mild form of the coronavirus.

CBSNews.com reveals what Dr. Scott Gottlieb has to say about Omicron, as he has spoken for “Face the Nation”:

There’s a very clear, as I said, decoupling between cases and hospitalizations and does appear now based on a lot of experimental evidence that we’ve gotten just in the last two weeks, that this is a milder form of the coronavirus appears to be a more of an upper airway disease and a lower airway disease that’s good for most Americans,

The one group that may be a problem is very young kids, very young children, toddlers who have trouble with upper airway infections, and you’re in fact seeing more croup-like infections and bronchiolitis in New York City among children.

Judging by data revealed by worldometers.info, Europe and the USA are facing huge numbers of infections due to COVID. There’s no telling when the situation will end.
