When we talk about the COVID pandemic, the first things that pop into the mind are lockdowns, restrictions, and vaccines. Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is the top infectious disease expert from the US, now brings some exhilarating news that many of us had been waiting for.

The new Delta variant of COVID is rampant in the US, causing a surge of coronavirus infections. Despite this fact, CNBC.com writes that Fauci said he doesn’t expect the US to impose lockdowns again.

Anthony Fauci declared as quoted by CNBC:

I think we have enough of the percentage of people in the country – not enough to crush the outbreak – but I believe enough to not allow us to get into the situation we were in last winter.

Even so, Fauci didn’t hesitate to say that things will get worse as the delta variant still continues its spread. The infectious disease expert was crystal clear, as also quoted by CNBC.com:

I don’t think we’re going to see lockdowns.

The Delta variant of COVID was first detected in India, and it’s outstanding due to the fact that it’s more contagious than other strains of the coronavirus. The USA is not the only country that has to deal with the Delta strain. Regions from Asia that were known to be successful in containing the SARS-CoV-2 virus are currently locking down hot spots.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revealed alarming news, claiming that the Delta variant can even be spread by vaccinated people.

Surely a lot of people aren’t fans of COVID lockdowns, but is it really a good choice not to impose them? Feel free to share your opinion with us in the comment section!
