It seems that Pfizer wants to offer more and more shots to people even though it’s been reported that the effectiveness of the vaccine is not as successful as expected. Check out the latest reports below.

Pfizer wants the fourth shot for seniors

It’s been just reported that the pharmaceuticals company filed an application with U.S. regulators seeking emergency use authorization for a second booster shot of their COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 65 and older.

The submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration includes data collected in Israel, where a second booster is authorized for many people over age 18, according to the latest reports.

“An analysis of data from over a million adults 60 years and older showed rates of confirmed infections and severe illness were lower among individuals who received an additional booster dose of the vaccine administered at least four months after an initial booster (third) dose compared to those who received only one booster dose, the companies said.”

It’s also important to note the fact that the U.S. health officials, including top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci have raised the prospects of a fourth shot many times.

The expert suggested that one might be needed for older people and to prepare for the possibility of another surge of cases.

Pfizer’s Albert Bourla on the covid vaccine

It’s been just reported that Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said that people would need a fourth dose of vaccine, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla told CBS on Sunday.

“Many variants are coming, and Omicron was the first one that was able to evade — in a skillful way — the immune protection that we’re giving.”

This is what Bourla told CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

He continued and said this:

“The protection we are getting from the third (dose) it is good enough — actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths.”
