Herd Immunity And Covid: New Data About Vaccination Is Out

The novel coronavirus continues to make headlines all over the world, especially since the appearance of the Delta variant.

As you probably know by now, the Delta variant is the most dangerous and terrifying of them all, and experts are calling it “corona on steroids.”

The Delta Covid variant is ruling all the other strains across the globe these days. It’s already been revealed that the Delta variant is the most dangerous one so far, according to more expert opinions across the globe.

This highly transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus, which is causing the disease Covid 19, will soon become the dominant strain globally in the upcoming months.

New data on herd immunity is out

CNBC just dropped an article addressing herd immunity and the necessity of vaccination.

As cited by CNBC, Dr. Peter Hotez warned that the rapid spread of the Delta coronavirus variant had forced the threshold for the amount of Americans requiring vaccination in order to achieve herd immunity much higher.

“We’re now realizing with the variant that’s this transmissible, that we have to get to 85%, maybe, as Tony Fauci said, 90% of the country vaccinated.”

He continued and said the following:

“That’s not 85%, 90% of the adults, that’s 85-90% of the country which means all of the adults and all of the adolescents, if we’re really going to get past this, and this is why he’s giving these extended time frames before we get out of Covid-19.”

He also brought up another spiny issue; he said that we could be talking about the possibility of wearing marks outdoor if things are not getting better with time.

Stay tuned for more news about the novel coronavirus and potential treatments and viable vaccines.
