There are all kinds of new coronavirus variants on the loose that are making life a living hell. Check out the latest reports about the delta plus covid 19 variant below.
USA Today just revealed that there’s an alarming rise in cases of the “delta plus” covid variant in the United Kingdom. But the most important thing is that this is unlikely to result in a ban on flights from Britain and Europe, CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Sunday.
“We’re not anticipating that now.”
This is what Walensky said in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“We’re absolutely following the science very, very carefully, but we are not anticipating or looking into that right now.”
The same article notes the fact that The delta plus variant, identified by British scientists last month, is considered a relative of the delta variant that fueled a deadly surge across the U.S. this summer.
On the other hand, it’s important to note the fact that this is not a variant of interest or concern, and in other words, it has not yet been named after a letter of the Greek alphabet.
The U.N. health agency is tracking about 20 variations of the delta variant, accoridng to the rerpots so far.
Coronavirus in the news
Yahoo News noted recently that pharmacies and doctors Friday began trying to get these shots into arms.
But, at the same time, it’s been revealed that they faced a variety of complex issues — they will have to help people understand whether they are eligible and answer questions about which booster to get.
The same article posted by Yahoo News as we mentioned above notes the fact that there is limited evidence that strongly suggests that booster doses of one of the two mRNA vaccines — Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech — more effectively raise antibody levels than a booster dose of the J&J vaccine.
