Covid Battle: Israeli Study Brings The Strongest Proof Of Vitamin D’s Massive Success

The news worldwide has been flooded with coronavirus-related issues for more than two years. Most headlines involve vaccines, treatments, and all kinds of terrifying data, more or less accurate or legit.

Few publications have been addressing the importance of a healthy lifestyle during this nightmare which will probably turn out to be the harshest period of our lifetimes.

We decided to reveal some amazing new info about the importance and efficiency of vitamin D. Check out the latest reports below, coming from an Israeli study.

Vitamin D’s enormous success in the covid battle

The Times of Israel notes that scientists revealed the fact that they have gathered the most convincing evidence to date saying that increased vitamin D levels can help COVID-19 patients reduce the risk of serious illness or death.

The publication mentioned above notes that researchers from Bar Ilan University and the Galilee Medical Center say that the vitamin has such a strong impact on disease severity that they can predict the ways in which people would fare if infected based on nothing more than their ages and vitamin D levels.

“Lacking vitamin D significantly increases danger levels, they concluded in newly peer-reviewed research published Thursday in the journal PLOS One.”

An important issue that is worth mentioning is that this study is based on research conducted during Israel’s first two waves of the virus.

This was obviously before vaccines were widely available. You may remember that back then, experts made sure to highlight the fact that vitamin supplements were not a substitute for vaccines, but these were rather a way to keep immunity levels from falling.

“We found it remarkable, and striking, to see the difference in the chances of becoming a severe patient when you are lacking in vitamin D compared to when you’re not.”

This is what Dr. Amiel Dror, a Galilee Medical Center physician and Bar Ilan researcher who was part of the team behind the study, stated.

He continued and said the following:

“What we’re seeing when vitamin D helps people with COVID infections is a result of its effectiveness in bolstering the immune systems to deal with viral pathogens that attack the respiratory system.”

He continued and told this to The Times of Israel:

“This is equally relevant for Omicron as it was for previous variants.”
