The novel coronavirus has been making headlines for two years and more now, but things are seemingly cooling off. There has been more info about the fact that this pandemic might be soon coming to an end, according to all the available reports.

But now, it’s been also revealed that Bill Gates is making headlines all over the place following a statement that he recently delivered.

CNBC noted just revealed that Bill Gates said the other day, that the risks of severe disease from Covid-19 have “dramatically reduced” but another pandemic is all but certain.

Potential new pandemic

He spoke to CNBC’s Hadley Gamble at Germany’s annual Munich Security Conference and said that a potential new pandemic would likely stem from a different pathogen to that of the coronavirus family.

But he added that advances in medical technology should help the world do a better job of fighting it — if investments are made now.

“We’ll have another pandemic. It will be a different pathogen next time.”

This is what Gates said.

It’s been also revealed that two years into the coronavirus pandemic, Gates said the worst effects have faded.

This happened while huge swathes of the global population have gained some level of immunity. Its severity has also waned with the latest omicron variant.

He also said that in many places that was due to the virus itself.

He said that the novel coronavirus creates a level of immunity, and has “done a better job of getting out to the world population than we have with vaccines.”

He also said this:

“The chance of severe disease, which is mainly associated with being elderly and having obesity or diabetes, those risks are now dramatically reduced because of that infection exposure.”

There has been also more info about a new subvariant of the Omicron variant of covid and you should check out our previous article in order to learn more details.
