The Guardian reported that the authorities in northern Germany have appealed to thousands of people to get another shot of Covid vaccines. This happened after a police investigation found out that a Red Cross nurse may have injected people with a saline solution.
The same online publication noted that the nurse is suspected of injecting a salt solution into people’s arms instead of genuine doses at a vaccination centre in Friesland – this is a rural district near the North Sea coast – in the early spring.
“I am totally shocked by this episode,” Sven Ambrosy, a local councillor, said on Facebook. Another important thing worth mentioning is that 8,600 residents who may have been affected.
Police investigator Peter Beer spoke at a news conference covered by German media, said that based on witness statements, there was “a reasonable suspicion of danger”.
