There are a lot of health benefits when drinking kombucha, the popular fermented tea beverage, according to the latest reports. Check out the new data below.

Health benefits of drinking kombucha

Kombucha is a drink that has been around for a long time, and lately, it has become very popular in the wellness world. It is made from a colony of bacteria and yeast, and new research suggests that it may provide a metabolic boost without requiring calorie counting or burpees.

Kombucha is a beverage that has gained popularity due to its potential health benefits. It is believed to have properties that can lower blood pressure, prevent cancer, and protect against metabolic diseases. T

hese benefits are thought to come from the probiotic microbes present in the drink. However, there is limited scientific research to support these claims.

A recent study focused on the effects of kombucha tea microbes on metabolism, using the microscopic roundworm C. elegans as a model organism.

The study, published in PLOS Genetics, found that the yeast and bacteria found in kombucha tea colonized the intestines of the worms, inducing metabolic changes that are similar to fasting.

The probiotic microbes altered the gene expression of fat metabolism, leading to an increase in proteins responsible for fat breakdown, and a decrease in those involved in synthesizing triglycerides, which are the most common types of fat in the body.

According to the researchers, this metabolic shift resulted in reduced fat accumulation in the worms.

These findings suggest that drinking kombucha may reduce body fat without reducing food intake.

“These findings suggest that the microbes in Kombucha Tea trigger a ‘fasting-like’ state in the host even in the presence of sufficient nutrients,” the study authors noted in a press release.
