There’s some news about the novel coronavirus these days. CNN just reported that there’s an optimistic turn in the Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths but it could eventually land in another spike in infections.
This is what expert Anthony Fauci said. On the other hand, the US could still prevent this spike with higher vaccination rates, according to the same online publication.
“If we don’t do very well in that regard, there’s always the danger that there will be enough circulating virus that you can have a stalling of the diminishing of the number of cases, and when that happens, as we’ve seen in the past with other waves that we’ve been through, there’s the danger of resurgence.”
This is what Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical adviser said to President Joe Biden, on Fox News Sunday.
CNN also points out the fact that cases still remain high, with an average of about 85,000 new infections a day as of Sunday, “they are down by more than 8,000 from a week prior”, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
“Deaths are down an average of more than 200 a day from the start of the month,” CNN notes.
New covid 19 surge prediction
A recent article on Yahoo Finance notes that President Joe Biden has recently addressed the country’s progress in the fight against covid 19 this week as new cases decline and vaccination rates rise.
On the other hand, it is also important to note the fact that despite the recent progress, health officials are warning that the pandemic is far from over, even with the Delta variant in retreat.
More and more experts are saying Americans should brace for another wave this winter.
“It’s just a matter of time before we have another surge.”
