There are all kinds of issues about the novel coronavirus which are making this virus hang around for longer and disrupt the world’s life for such a long period of time.
The viable treatments and the useful vaccines have been also surrounded by lots of controversies and this is one of the reasons for which not everyone is getting too excited to hear about the vaccines these days, considering some of the side effects that have been made public by the media.
Drastic measures about vaccination against the novel coronavirus
Now, it seems that some of the world leaders are taking drastic measures in order to get people to accept the vaccines.
CNN just revealed that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened to jail people who refuse to be vaccinated against the coronavirus as his country battles one of Asia’s worst outbreaks, with more than 1.3 million cases and 23,000 deaths.
“You choose, vaccine or I will have you jailed,” Duterte said recently following reports of low turnouts at several vaccination sites in the capital, Manila.
Duterte’s remarks contradict those of his health officials, according to the same online publication – they have said that while people are urged to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, it was voluntary.
“Don’t get me wrong, there is a crisis in this country,” Duterte said. “I’m just exasperated by Filipinos not heeding the government.”
